Lee Jackson Metaltronix History - Page 5

When Lee Jackson Performed his first Modification at the age of Six (he motorized his tricycle !), it was evident the Lee wasn't the type to be satisfied with "Stock" equipment. Later when he became a Professional Musician, that dissatisfaction with stock equipment led him to begin modifying his Tube amplifiers. The results were phenomenal and the word spread throughout the Music World.

The newest chapter in Lee Jackson Amplification is that Lee is moving it to Austin Texas , as of September 1st 1996 we will be located in Austin. Lee Has spent a lot of time there over the years and has found the music scene to be one of the best in the U.S. , Austin has opened it's arms to the possibility of us opening a facility there. Lee has just finished his new book "Ultimate Bench Warrior". Lee has been writing it for several months. Included in the book are some of his most well known amplifier modificationsused by Steve Vai, George Lynch, Zakk Wylde and Paul Gilbert. Also, Because of the overwhelming responses we have received after Lee announced the possibility of him doing Videos of his amplifier modifications.
Lee has just finished his first in a series"
Volume One-Marshall Modification Video's".
This is the same mod's that he does for such players as George Lynch, Steve Vai,
Paul Gilbert, Akira Takasaki and Zakk Wylde. Check it out.... Here Those that are on our mailing will be sent the new information as it comes available. If you are not on our mailing list please add your Name and E-mail address to our mailing list by E-mailing your info to us, we will keep you informed on deals that come up time to time.Austin is a great town, but I got offered a position as a Professor at the Acamdemy of Arts working with motion picture special effects. This is something I always wanted to do.....so I packed up the truck and I moved to San Francisco, what an experience that was. I learned a lot, got a chance to meet and hang with some amazing animators like Matt Hendershot who works at Industrial Light and Majic,he worked on Star Trek, Private Ryan etc......This was great, but Lee was really missing to be Rockin and a Rollin !!! Well it has been an interesting year, I moved from Austin Texas to San Francisco to do Special Effects and Sound. That was interesting but kind of boring, you don't get much of a life. San Francisco was nice, but holy cow, that is the most expensive city in the world to live, so I decided to move back to Southern California.I was then offered several CD projects which where very fun, I got to work with old band mate John Purdell. Then out of the blue I was offered the CEO/Pres position in a Motion picture/Special effects company (Visual Elements), Visual Elements has several top name effects personel, some of the movies thereanimators have worked on include the Matrix and,Titanic, pink Pather just to name a few.Well the new job allows me to live where ever I want, so I have decided to move back to Austin. Austin is a awesome town and they have hands down the best BBQ, I was a serious vegetarian till I moved to Austin and smelled that BBQ. So as for my future Audio adventures, I will be opening a new Audio company "Lee Jackson Audio" Which will encompass everything from Amplifiers to Motion Picture Audio Effects, And.....Finally I signed a book deal with Cherry Lane Music, they will be releasing my tech amp book "Ultimate Bench Warrior" Volume One and Two. Well....to keep you up with the latest installment of my life, as you know the stock market crashed, and this time it was a doozy..., We had some of the best presenters in New York presenting our new company, and we had no idea that the market was going to crash on the day of our presentation, So what does that mean....No Moola. Then several weeks later we had the 911 catastrophe and that was the final death blow. The investors freaked and pulled there support because there other investments were going down the drain, and on top of that we used a lot of our personal money to build the company, I personally lost my lifes nest egg too, so what this all means is we needed to close the company and regroup our efforts the best we could. Again, thank you for all your support and I will try to keep you up to date on our new adventures.......
