New! Compressor Pedal The "La Compressor 2.0"

I am proud to announce a new member to our line up....The "La Compressor 2.0" It is modeled after our favorite Tube Compressor, the LA2A.
What I love about it is its simplicity of operation, just Three Knobs! Get all that Sustain and Roundness of the notes you play, Great for Chording, or Single notes.
Plus if you need it, it will give you More Gain!
And, with the latest version, you can preset two different compression settings, All of this on a single 9 Volt battery.

On the VL-1002 swutching, there are two capacitors that need to be removed,

I have just finished designing one of my best Distortion pedals, I was recently working with an artist that likes to play at LOUD volumes. When we would add any kind of distortion pedal for just MORE....it would take his bottom end out.
When we added my Active GAin Pedal that worked awesome because it kept the bottom end, but he wanted added distortion that the Active Gain will not produce. So I combined the idea of the Active Gain Pedal with a distortion pedal and the KataDistortion © is the Super child.
Listen to what a dead sounding guitar sounds like, plugged into the KataDistortion ©.

The DreamWeaver ANALITAL Delay Pedal is Ready!

I have always wanted an Analog delay, I also wanted it to be quiet and not noisy like most of them are....so I built it. The Fat Sound of Analog, with the Clean Sound of Digital, The Best thing I say about it is it is fun to play, easy to set a Great Sound, plus with the mix control you can dial it the exact amount of delay effect. This DreamWeaver pedal combines old technology with new! The DreamWeaver Delay is wide ranging, getting everything from thick vintage Analog style sounds to very transparent Digital style sounds, without the sterility of the other Digital Delays. And there's tons headroom so that there isn't any input overload distortion if you use heavy strings. And with the half time switch, you can go from a short to long delay time with a push of a switch. The Effect Bypass switch is "True Bypass" which allows the signal to pass through the pedal untouched when turned off.

Lee Jackson Mastering Lab get first AWS900+ in America

FIRST SOLID STATE LOGIC AWS 900+ ANALOGUE WORKSTATION SYSTEM GOES TO MUSICIAN/COLLECTOR BOB JABOURGC Pro’s Austin, TX Location Handles First AWS 900+ SaleAUSTIN, TX—Musician Bob Jabour, owner of one of the country’s most extensive collections of vintage instruments, amplifiers and recording equipment, has taken delivery of the first Solid State Logic AWS 900+ Analogue Workstation System. The AWS 900+, featuring new control protocols for a wide range of digital audio workstations including Nuendo™, Sonar™, Digital Performer™ and Logic™, will serve Jabour’s combination recording studio/museum of vintage gear. Lee Jackson, integrator for Jabour’s studio, reports that the AWS 900+ was put to work upon its arrival from Austin’s Guitar Center and its professional division, GC Pro. “We immediately set up the console and started cutting,” says Jackson, founder of the Metaltronix, Perfect Connection and Lee Jackson Amplification companies. “Mark Andes, the bass player from Heart and Spirit, came in to lay tracks on a project. We used the instrument input and it just sounded amazing.” The AWS 900+ is housed at Lee Jackson Mastering Labs in Austin while Jabour finalizes plans for his studio/museum. “The AWS 900+ is absolutely transparent, it’s beautiful,” says Jackson. “Being able to touch back and forth between the DAW and analog is absolutely great. It’s the same to go from record to play back—just effortless. With many consoles there’s a lot of patching, whereas with the AWS 900+, all the patching is pretty much preset for you. Plus, you can set up all kinds of templates, which is really great.”An analog console, says Jackson, is indispensable to DAW-based production, be it Pro Tools or Digital Performer, which he also uses. “We wanted to get away from just having a bigger controller and controlling more of the inside of the computer,” he explains. “Mixing internally, it’s cluttered and there’s no definition. We had already been tracking, so we could pull up large mixes on the AWS 900+ immediately, and everybody in the room said ‘Wow!’ We hadn’t even started mixing—everything was flat, just coming through the board—and it sounded much better. It’s definitely a wonderful unit.”Jabour seconds that statement: “Lee is interested in the interface between analog and digital,” he explains. “He raved about SSL because of the success it has had in this area with the AWS 900. As a vintage and analog guy, being able to capture the warmth of analog and work in a digital medium is critical. That’s what led us to SSL. I really trust Lee’s judgment, and he put me right onto the best equipment.”"I'm pleased that Bob Jabour is the first to purchase the newly released SSL AWS 900+ console,” adds Rick Plushner, director of sales, Guitar Center Professional Division. “All of us at GC Pro look forward to the opening of his new facility and listening to the music recorded and mixed on this amazing product."The AWS 900+ is the only console that provides the dual benefits of a fully featured SuperAnalogue™ signal path coupled with a comprehensive DAW controller. Key features include SSL’s legendary SuperAnalogue™ mic pre’s and signal processing; full monitoring up to 5.1-channel surround sound; direct control of DAW recording, editing and mixing functions; and flexible signal routing. Additional features include greater bandwidth than 192kHz recorders; twin curve SSL E and G Series 4-band parametric equalization; assignable SSL dynamics section with gate, expander and compressor/limiter; G Series Stereo main mix buss compressor; flexible processing order; balanced circuitry throughout; oxygen-free cable throughout; and metering on all channels and main outputs.

Active Gain Pedal Reviewed by Guitar Great Phil Brown

Everybody likes gain...more love, more cool, more influence, more life, more sound...
How about more tone? Welcome to the "Active Gain Pedal" world of Lee Jackson. All the
companies over the last few years have opted to create pedals that bring the
"authenticity" of grunge/blues and guitar hero status at the push of a button....ok....whoa!
Wait a minute partner! As a guitarist I was wondering when or if someone could/would
build/design a stomp box that did not change your tone. At last.... someone did it...There's a
REAL Transparency inherent in this Active Gain Pedal of Lee Jackson's that delivers
EXACTLY what you play. 11 times out of 10 there's always a degradation of the original
sound and despite the manufactures best PR with every pedal I have had in the past I still
can hear my guitar tone change-and UNTIL now that just pissed me off to no end!....Not so
with this creation.
There's the sound of the guitar coupled with the amplifier....But what if you
already have "your sound"? It's sweet and you like it...What's the advantage of adding
another loop into your sound chain? Simple...there's an added dimension often lost in "live"
applications not too mention the studio. Whether you are a Fender/Gibson/Hamer/Martin/Taylor guitar god/goddess you will absolutely fall into big lust
with this box. Simple controls and YES! One can plainly tell the distinct differences in the
settings...When the light is off you have bypassed the circuit...& one can easily A/B what
works for you. Activating the pedal (the light on) one has a Clean boost by turning the Master Volume all the way up and the Gain, (putting the clip
switch in the middle "off" position) Exceptional ear candy for those who love a clean
electric guitar sound....and for all you acoustic players-oh my gawd! Get ready to walk on
water baby!) Now here’s the deal: 3 controls...
Clip Switch:
The Clip Switch has 3 positions- (1[up]- [OFF middle]-2[down]). The clip switch allows
the circuit to have 2 kinds of 'clip settings'- (1) setting one (up) has a slight but noticeable
"clip or edge" to your sound whereas (2) has more "edge and compression". The "middle"
switch can be used as a very clean BOOST when the switch is in the MIDDLE Position.
Gain:
The Gain control goes from UNITY (the same level that is coming out of your
instrument) to all the way Up (which is over 100x the signal!)....with no loss of original tone!
Master Volume:
The Master volume is activated when the pedal is ON and it CONTROLS the overall
volume of the pedal. By turning UP the GAIN and turning DOWN the MASTER you can
achieve variable and quite noticeable amounts of clip/compression levels and you will also
notice there is NO loss of tone. In fact the Gain Pedal does exactly that...it increases your
gain. This is not a FUZZ/DISTORTION/GRUNGE box...it's an "ACTIVE GAIN PEDAL"...If you
suspect you deserve 'more' gain and can live without the constant tone changes inherent in
everybody else's pedals-go to www.leejackson.com order your customized pedal from Lee
Jackson and fasten your seat belts...you are gonna dig this the mostest and never ever
"wonder" again why your tone is so real, phat and alive...

New M-1000P and XLS-1000P Preamp Pedals!

Hi EveryoneI'm sorry I didn't post a May update, it was a crazy month we had dealers and direct sales from all over the world.I guess the news is out about our Pedals. We have been working around the clock in May making Pedals.

I started experimenting with tube emulation through discrete components.I have alway found DSP emulation to sucK and sound synthetic. So I designed a tube emulator and then used it in place of a tube in several of my designs and proto'ed one up to hear it.Well it blew my mind, the first amp I tried it on was the M-1000, then I built an XLS-1000, and what was amazing they had the same characteristics as the original amps.

Of coarse they didn't have power amps, I tried them into the front of my Pro Junior then into my SP-1000..... I was Blown awaySo I decided to make Pedal out of the idea, check them out at: http://www.leejackson.com/Pedals_5.htmlThe new Amps are moving forward, we should be getting to the last set of prototypes, and have costing soon.We are thinking about taking pre orders as soon as we publish the Prices, Plus we are talking about making the first 50 heads special and have them factory direct only at a reduced price. If you are interested in getting in on the first 50, email us (Info@leejackson.com) and will tell you the availablity. We will help however we can.Thank you for your support and encouragement.Well....Back to workTalk to you soon

Lee Jackson Effect Pedal Update

I wanted to keep you updated on what is happening.I just finished designing and shipping four new pedals.I'm really excited about these.I have build so many custom pedals for some our favorite guitar players, so I cherry picked four of my favorites.

The "Photon Phaser" is fun, beside the bypass button you have two Speed Switch controls. These controls allow you to ramp or speed up like a rotating speaker, or Ramp down. The brake will take it from fast to slow in one revolution, and if you release the brake it will ramp up to speed. So the brake can be used to go from slow to fast with the one button.

The "Orange Masher" (Compressor), really is special, you are going to really like the threshold control. Do you remember one of DBX's most popular compressors with the single slide control on the front? All you had to do was move the slider for what ever playing style you had, and the compressor would fit the style or sound. The Orange Masher's Threshold control, can do that for you.

The "Atom Smasher", (Octave divider), can sound like a Vintage Tycobrah. or a Colorsound divider, which are very rare.Jeff beck used one on the early albums. The circuit is vintage with my twist on it, Phil Brown had one of these and flipped, he had been looking for that sound since his early days of playing. That is what gave me the idea to listen to the Jeff Beck cd's and mimic it on this pedal.

The " Vibrator" (Tremelo-Vibrato) is pretty wild, you can set the range from one beat every 4 sec to a machine gun fire. The switches allow multi pulse and pattern changes. It uses Opto technology like a tube amp, so you can get the same smooth response.I now will be putting all my time into the amps, we are sussing out suppliers and getting our cost figures.Soon we will announce the release dates and what the final prices will be.As always, I am trying to figure ways to build the very best product, at the most reasonable prices.Well....Back to workTalk to you soon

Hi Everyone

Some really exciting news in the works, and will be announced at the Summer Namm show (July). Their will be a Lee Jackson and Major amp company aliance. I keep trying to do it on my own, and every time I came up against Money/Banker head aches. I just refuse to build an amp for 3,000 when I can produce them for half that with the right production crew. Well I just got that, if you saw me on a plane last week, then you might have an idea what state I was going to, and who it was that I was visiting.
I'm extremely excited...Great things soon to come

Hi Everyone

The Namm Show is almost upon us (Jan 19 - 22nd),
We are not showing this year, instead we are meeting with Artists and Distributors, so if you see us walking around the show, come up and say hi.
Our new GP-1000II all tube pedal is almost ready for sale, wait till you see this one, I custom designed a cast aluminum box for it.
The GP-1000II is a direct copy of our GP-1000 rack pre-amp, I did add several cool new features.
The "Children of Bodom" guys will be the first to have them when there finished, Alex has been a believer of the GP-1000 for a while.
Also, the New Re-issue of the XLS-1000 heads are coming soon....if your on our mailing list you will be the first to know.
Well I got to get back to work......Lee
